When I was a little girl, I remember loving going to the hair salon with my mom. The salon was such a pretty place colored with the trendy pinks and dark mauves of the era. My mom's hairdresser was the most stylish person I had ever met. She was so cool with her sassy hair, big earrings, and bright lip color! I would watch in fascination as they chatted and she transformed my mother's hair; there was something incredibly special about what she did and her essence that drew me in. The lady at the Lancôme counter in the department store got my attention too. I would watch as she did make-up for women and girls getting ready for special events. I even remember having favorite Lancôme products, their brown lip liner and mascara!

 

​As my interest and passion for hair and make-up grew, I began doing my friends' hair and make-up for proms and special events at school. They'd sit patiently as I worked my magic on their hair and faces. I enjoyed seeing their faces as they looked at themselves in the mirror at the completion of me working.

 

It honestly never occurred to me this "hobby" would someday become my career. I learned quickly during my first semester that college was not for me, so I found myself in beauty school. After Beauty school, when I began working with real clients in a salon, I realized I had found my calling. I enjoy seeing the shift in someone’s mood after getting their hair done. There is something wonderful about knowing that what I do for my clients, is the reason they leave happy. 

 

​I've been a hair and makeup artist for over 20 years, and I love it! I still look for those magic moments, places, and people in the industry that keep me inspired and motivated. I strive to be the best stylist for my clients! I keep up with current trends by continuing my education and rely on my natural instincts for what my client’s needs are and when it is time for a change.
